2009 GOALS:

bullet

Expanding skiable terrain with new trails to the north - logging was completed in the fall of 2007 - clearing & landscaping of the slopes still needs to be completed, plus expansion of snowmaking equipment into the new runs - hopefully in the summer of 2009 (Cost: $300,000)

bullet

Installing a chairlift to the top (Cost: $400,000 - planned for 2009 completion)

bullet

Doubling the tube hill capacity (planned for 2009 completion)

bullet

The completion of these last 3 remaining projects is dependent upon the ability of FoBMI to raise the necessary funding - PLEASE DONATE to help us reach our goals!

2) Promote, assist with, and/or sponsor many special events at the hill such as: Skiing with Santa, Big Air Competition, Special Olympics Races, Family Fun Night, Furniture Races, King of the Mound Race, Queens Race, Radar Run, Kayak Races, and Spring Fling

3) Increase public awareness of the available public resources and benefits of Bruce Mound, and aid in promoting healthy, affordable family recreation at the park.

4) Assist in researching solutions to facility shortcomings in light of increasing attendance at an aging facility.
The map at the right shows the proposed improvements to the hill. Please click on the map to see a larger image.

All of these goals are dependent on funding. In 2004, Friends of Bruce Mound raised enough money through community and private donations to purchase and install a handlebar tow at the snowboard park. This new tow was a welcome addition to the hill and greatly eased overcrowding for snowboarders and other skiers on the nearby T-bar lift.

SkiAir4

In 2005, FoBMI initiated a major capital fund drive to raise money for a new chairlift, tube hill expansion, ski trail additions, and a new chalet. A budget of $1,000,000 has been developed for these improvements.  Over two thirds of this amount has been pledged or received in the form of gifts from businesses, individuals, and organizations, plus grants and matching funds from major donors. About $300,000 of additional gifts and pledges are needed to reach our goals.

Since 2005 all tax deductible gifts & pledges have been matched by a large contributor.  Clark County’s Bruce Mound Winter Recreation Area and its supporters have provided so much for over 35 years; please help make these planned improvements a reality; Help make Bruce Mound an affordable, desirable recreational facility for families from all across the area.

Please contribute to the Friends of Bruce Mound, Inc. Find out how!
